Peter Foyo – International Board Executive

The founding CEO of Principal Standard Group, Peter Foyo has held numerous board leadership positions over the course of his career. He is a current board member with the Marquette Companies, a prominent real estate company with over 11,000 apartment units and $1.9 billion in property investments in the United States. Mr. Foyo also spent six years on the board of Abraaj Group of the United Arab Emirates, one of the 50 largest private equity firms in the world. Along with serving on the advisory board of the freight rail company Kansas City Southern, Peter Foyo helped lead the Business Global Initiative at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.

In addition, Peter Foyo is recognized as an accomplished telecommunications executive with a proven ability to translate strategy into profitable results. In his current role with Principal Standard Group, he oversees a broad range of global initiatives in communications, real estate, energy, and health care. His projects at Principal Standard Group include the first solar facility in Mexico, a $700 million medical plaza in Cancun, and a €1.5 billion communications contract with Serbia Telecom.

Peter Foyo spent much of his career as chief executive officer and chairman of Nextel de Mexico, growing the company’s revenues to $3 billion in 15 years with the company. He also increased the company’s customer base from 35,000 analog subscribers to 4 million digital subscribers, securing 30% of the Mexican postpaid market in the process. At the end of his tenure in 2013, Nextel de Mexico led all mobile network operators in terms of average revenue per subscriber and EBITDA margins. He helped the company garner several major industry awards and recognitions, including “Socially Responsible Company” for eight consecutive years and “One of the Best Places to Work” since 2007.
